Michelle McKinney Hammond
Someone once said that writing, when done well, is but a different name for conversation. With her dynamic, girlfriend-in-your-living-room writing style, Michelle McKinney Hammond has released her own special art of conversation onto men and women across the world, with books on living life single, as a woman, in interpersonal relationships and in relationship with God.
Michelle has spent her entire career involved in people’s lives and in their living rooms, having moved effortlessly from top advertising creative professional to highly sought after voice-over talent to freelance writer, author, counselor, public speaker and television co-host.
Comedian Chonda Pierce (www.chonda.org) has appeared more than a dozen times on the famous stage of The Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, TN, following in the footsteps of much beloved comedienne, Minnie Pearl. “I may have replaced the gingham dress and price-tag hat with irreverent leather pants, but I have held onto what Ms. Minnie taught me—that comedy can be clean and still be funny!”
This lesson has served Chonda well. After 20 years in comedy, she has an audience of two million faithful fans, five gold-certified comedy albums and a certified platinum DVD for Havin’ a Girls’ Night Out. She is the author of 9 books including “Laughing in the Dark…a comedian’s journey through depression.” Chonda has worked with Billy Graham, has appeared more often than any other special guest for the nationally acclaimed conference Women of Faith and has received honors as the 2000 and 2001 Gospel Music Association’s Grady Nutt Humor Award recipient.
Outside the comedy arena, Pierce is a spokesperson for World Vision and The House of Hope in Orlando, Fla. She also actively promotes New Frontiers Camp in Dowelltown, TN and The Funny Farm, a cabin retreat for pastors and missionaries started by Pierce and her husband, David, in middle Tennessee.
