Rena Quint has had six mothers, three names and two birthdates. Growing up in the middle of WWII, Rena’s Jewish family was murdered by the Nazis. At five, she was sent to the German concentration camp Bergen-Belsen, where she was cared for by various imprisoned “mothers”. At the same time, Rosemarie Reinhard was growing up in Nazi Germany. Nazi soldiers brought Jews to her father’s dental practice and unbeknownst to them, Richard Reinhard would lovingly care for them and feed them in his basement. When the Nazi’s learned of this, his entire family was slated for execution. Both Rena and Rosemarie survived the murderous Nazis and their lives offer hope and inspiration for all.
